Autumn highlights

These are the things which have been keeping us busy as summer fades into autumn:

Sweet Charity went with a swing on a trip to the Watermill Theatre. On a visit to see the gardens at Aston Pottery, as featured on BBC’s Gardeners’ World, a windy day had battered  the dahlias, but lunch was delicious. Confessions of an Opera Singer proved to be very entertaining at the Jubilee Group meeting in Drayton.  Our first Saturday coffee morning was the perfect opportunity for a relaxed chat and cake.  The speaker from Oxfordshire Lowland Rescue impressed us so much at the October meeting that there was a spontaneous collection of £100 from those present to donate to the charity.  The same generous folk had already supplied impressive amounts of foodstuffs for the Abingdon Food Bank collection.  Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the craft group is planning Christmas decorations.
