The June meeting featured a colourful display, coordinated by Val, of the handiwork of the busy knitters of Abingdon Fitzharrys WI.  Items knitted include blankets for the Special Care Babies Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital and so-called “Fish and Chip” jumpers, which will be sent to countries in Africa. Christmas meeting 2023

Abingdon Fitzharrys WI’s December monthly meeting was an interactive musical Christmas celebration with help from the Abingdon Music Centre.  There was a also a special Christmas tombola and wonderful handmade Christmas decorations and table centres, including a knitted nativity scene.  Mulled wine and mince pies added to the festive cheer. Christmas lunch 2023

The Abingdon Fitzharrys WI annual Christmas lunch took place on Friday 8th December. The venue was Cosener’s House in Abingdon, where the tables were decorated in fine festive fashion. Oliver! at the New Theatre

Abingdon Fitzharrys members have a chance to join an outing to the New Theatre, Oxford for a matinee performance of the Oxford Operatic Society’s production of Oliver. The performance is on Saturday 3rd February 2024.  Put your name on the list at the next meeting if you would like tickets.

Greys Court outing

The rain didn’t dampen spirits on the annual Abingdon Fitzharrys August outing this year to Greys Court, a National Trust property near Henley-on-Thames. Everyone came armed with raincoats and umbrellas and were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds as much as the interesting historic interior.

Garden Party

The annual July garden party at Trine’s house managed to dodge the showers and was enjoyed by all.  There were colourful summer outfits, home baked refreshments and a treasure hunt, raffle and sales table.  As well as an opportunity to sit and chat with friends in charming surroundings.
