Our first Zoom meeting

Published by AbingdonFitzharrysWI on

Abingdon Fitzharrys WI hit a new milestone this week.  On Tuesday 9th March at 7pm twenty-two members joined together for our first meeting on Zoom.  There was lots of chat, catching up on news and comparison of lockdown hairstyles!  Moira, the President, also filled us in on future plans.  In April and May there will be two Zoom meetings at Abingdon Fitzharrys’ new meeting time of 1.30 pm, with speakers arranged.  The committee have set aside the June meeting for the AGM, also to be held on Zoom.  There are hopes that in July there can be some sort of outdoors get-together such as a garden party, but this will depend on government guidelines.  The autumn programme will also depend on government guidelines, but the speakers arranged can mostly do either Zoom or in person as necessary.  Denise ran through her draft programme of speakers.  Anne, the treasurer, talked about subscriptions and how she would be contacting everyone shortly with all the necessary information.  The meeting closed at 8 pm, with thanks to Val and Marcus for setting it up and a general feeling that it had gone very well.
