September 2025 – soon be Christmas!!!
The weather gods decided to be kind for our garden party. Twenty-seven members enjoyed a chat, tea and delicious cake. Maybe you are now even feeling cold?

There will be a bit more news in early September. Some of us are busy putting a programme together for 2026 /27. Suggestions for a day trip out or what to do when we have an in-house meeting would be very welcome.

The Oxfordshire Federation event in the Northcourt Centre at 10.30am 27 November should be good. It is a talk entitled “The Greatest Story Ever Told” by Professor Tim Coulson and tickets go on sale on 1st September. All the information you need is in the Oxfordshire Inspires magazine.

Welfare Officer Do you know any members who are poorly and might like a visit? Contact Hilary. We try very hard to make sure all our members are valued.
Lunch Club Tuesday 26 August at 12.30 pm at the Spread Eagle, Northcourt Road. Contact Pauline.
Walking Group Sunday 31 August. Meet at 2pm in Abingdon marketplace. The plan is to go to Albert Park and then along the Ock Valley Walk to return to the marketplace. The walk will be led by Dawn and Doreen is the contact.
Book Library Moving all the books into the coffee room worked well and created a lot of buzz. Please also continue to buy used books from the sales table.
Coffee Club  Sunday 7 September 2pm onwards at ’Coffee Aroma, High Street, Abingdon.
Craft Group NO AUGUST MEETING
Next meeting planned for Friday 26 September 2pm Northcourt Centre. Contact Hilary.
Art Group Every 2nd and 4th Monday morning of the month at Northcourt Centre Contact Viv.

Next monthly meeting  Tuesday 9 September 9 at 1.30 pm. A talk by Chris Strata on ‘’Leprosy, a disease of poverty”. Please bring a piece of FRUIT or VEG for our popular raffle.
Jubilee Group Meeting Monday 29 7.30pm at Drayton Village Hall 7.30 pm. ‘’Lesley Smith- Historian aka Boudicca’’ Tickets £5.00 on sale now. Don’t miss this!

Christmas lunch at the Merry Miller, Cothill. Thursday 4 December. Time to put your name down for this!

Christmas meeting  Please start looking for toiletries for the homeless and items suitable for our tombola.
