Garden party August 2026

Abingdon Fitzharrys’ annual garden party took place this week amid worries that it might be uncomfortably hot. Luckily the day dawned warm and sunny but the temperature was not overwhelming and there were plenty of shady spots in Trine’s delightful garden.  Of course there was tea and cake and other home baked goodies.  Liz provided a picture quiz on garden plants which seemed entirely appropriate in the setting and kept everyone busy.  There was a beautifully presented basket of fruit for the holder of the lucky entrance ticket and a truly mammoth raffle, thanks to many kind donations. We were joined by Tracy, the Oxfordshire Federation of WI’s Chair and by our WI Adviser Catherine.  A relaxed afternoon full of smiles, friendship and conversation in a beautiful setting. We couldn’t have asked for more.
