Leaf art workshop
Some members of Abingdon Fitzharrys WI thought it wise to don aprons when taking part in a seasonal workshop involving all things leaf, led by member Mary and her team of helpers. Lots of autumn leaves were available for members to create art using a number of techniques. Participants drew around the leaves to make silhouettes on different colours of paper, making the most of leaves with a variety of beautiful shapes. They made leaf rubbings with pastels, particularly successful where the leaves used had prominent veins. They used poster paints to coat leaves so that they could print leaf shapes on to paper and make pleasing compositions of leaves of various colours and shapes. Finally, they were able, if they wished, to cut out their leaf creations and stick them onto to blank card to make greetings cards or pictures. It was a busy and creative afternoon.
