It’s raining at last! August was a busy month with the garden party and a visit to Aston Pottery. Luckily
the weather gods were kind to us yet again. The garden party and the biggest raffle ever, with lots of tea and cake was much enjoyed by all. Thank you everybody for helping.
Fifteen ladies went to Aston pottery in several cars. What joy it was to see all the flowers in a multitude of glorious colours. The lunch wasn’t bad either. I was in my element taking photos, then home to delete the bad ones as I’m rather fussy.
The latest Abingdon Fitzharrys photo album will be out for the September meeting. Do have a browse!
We now have seven of these scrapbooks.
The last quarter of the year is already upon us. I hope you will be able to attend and enjoy what is on the menu, including the fruit and vegetable raffle at September’s meeting.

Monthly Meeting Tuesday 8 September. Our speaker is Liz Woolley talking to us about leisure and entertainment in Victorian and Edwardian Oxford. We are having a fruit and vegetable raffle so donations welcome please.
Craft group Friday 25 September at 2 pm, Northcourt Centre. They are doing a Prick and Stitch Christmas card with Trine. Contact Hilary.
Art Group restarts in September. Contact Viv.
Jubilee Group meeting Monday 28 September 7.30pm at Drayton Village Hall. The speaker is Wendy Buffrey, talking about her experience as a postmistress caught up in the Horizon scandal. Tickets £5.
We need volunteers to serve tea and make cakes/biscuits for this please. You can claim expenses.
