January 2020 is kicking off with a visit to see the live screening of the Royal Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty, on Thursday 16 January.

Summer 2019 included trips to live screenings of the Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Taming of the Shrew at the Amey Theatre.

In September, there was a day out to the Watermill Theatre, with lunch included, this time to see a production of Kiss Me Kate, following a very successful trip to see Sweet Charity in September 2018.

November saw a live screening at the Amey Hall of the Royal Ballet triple bill Concerto, Enigma Variations and Raymonda Act 3.

Back in Abingdon in 2018, Abingdon Operatic’s production of Top Hat at the Amey Theatre was a popular choice.Enthusiastic supporters of the Live Screenings at the Amey Theatre, saw the Royal Ballet’s Mayerling in October and the National Theatre’s Madness of King George in November, as well as the Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker in December. So far in 2019 there has been a trip to see Jersey Boys at the New Theatre in Oxford in January, and the live screening of the Royal Ballet’s Don Quixote at the Amey Theatre in February.
