Walking Group

Published by AbingdonFitzharrysWI on

We hope to do a walk this month, if the weather allows. We will catch the 10.16 bus from the Boundary House on Monday 20 January to Wantage, for a historic walk around the town and plan to have lunch at the Museum with more things to see. Look forward to seeing you.

We have a small group of members who enjoy a monthly walk around Abingdon and the surrounding area. We began this year with a walk along the bridle way to Sunningwell.  We sometimes catch a bus to one of the outlying villages or to Woodstock where we enjoy a walk around the grounds of Blenheim Palace. We try to arrange the walks around the seasons of flowers and enjoy daffodils at Steventon and bluebells at Radley. We enjoy seeing the blossoms on trees and the flowers in gardens we pass. Our walk usually ends with a meal at a local pub or cafe.

We enjoy the exercise and a social get together with friends, with friendly chats along the way.

The meal is voluntary, as not everyone wants to stay for the meal, so they make their own way home.

To join any of our groups, speak to a member of the committee at the monthly meeting or email us at info@abingdonfitzharryswi.co.uk.
