Here we go, countdown to Christmas! Where on earth does the time go? Hope you all know how to swim with all this water.
I attended the Northcourt Centre Committee Meeting recently. There are several plans to refurbish the building – some double glazing and new fire exits to start with.  Like any building there is always something that needs doing.
Another person is needed to go to these meetings please. The next date is date is Wednesday 4 December at 6.30 pm.

We had a well-attended September meeting with two visitors, Christine and Karen. The talk about medical detection dogs was deeply moving. Let’s hope more and more dogs can be trained to help those in need.

If you like knitting or sewing, we have several ongoing projects for charity. “Fish and chip” jumpers, baby blankets, twiddlemuffs, hats for the homeless and syringe bags. A large amount of assorted wool has come our way so there is no need to buy any.

Sunday 6 October 2 pm onwards – Coffee Club at Coffee Aroma. All welcome.

Tuesday 22 October Lunch Club at the Spread Eagle, Northcourt Road. at 12.30 pm. Contact Pauline.

Book Club/Library  – Janet Hickman has kindly offered to run this. We don’t yet have a format so watch this space.

Friday 25th October 2 pm Craft Group  meets in the Morgan Room, Northcourt Centre. Contact Hilary.

The Art Group continues to meet every 2nd and 4th Monday morning in the Morgan room.
There is now a waiting list. Contact Viv.

Next WI Meeting  Tuesday 8 October. We are having In house entertainment with a Beetle Drive and a
surprise Poem. Please bring a small plate with a sweet or savoury nibble to share.

Thursday 5 December – Christmas lunch at The Merry Miller in Cothill. Menus will be circulated at the meeting. All financial details from Judy our treasurer.

Saturday 18 January 2025 trip to see a matinee at the New Theatre, Oxford of  Cinderella, performed by the Oxford Operatic Society. This is not the pantomime version – music by Rogers and Hammerstein. There will be a list circulated for those interested to add their names. Payment will be due in November/December when I know the cost.

All the best

Trine
