Ho,ho,ho
here it comes again, Christmas and all that goes along with it. The shopping, the food, the presents and much more. I hope that somewhere along the way we can all stop and reflect about what it all means – coming together and kindness.
We welcome Margaret who joined as a new member last month and Dominique who came as a visitor, both of them thrown in at the deep end with our craft dabble session.
28 Abingdon Fitzharrys members are now going for a 2 course Christmas lunch at Cosener’s House on Friday 8 December.
In the new year, 31 of us are going to watch Oliver! at the New Theatre on Saturday 3 February.
There is a change to our programme for both January and February next year. Watch this space.
The double issue of Oxfordshire Federation of WI’s magazine is due any day now. Please make a point of
reading it. There will be an opportunity to apply to go as an observer to the National Federation of WI’s annual meeting at the Albert Hall on Wednesday 5 June 2024.
Sunday 3 December – Coffee club meeting at Coffee Aroma 2pm onwards. All welcome.
Tuesday 19 December – the Lunch Club’s Christmas meeting at the Spread Eagle, Northcourt Road. Contact Pauline Claridge.
Friday 26 January 2024 next meeting of the Craft group at Northcourt Centre.
The Art Group continues to meet every 2nd and 4th Monday morning in the Morgan room at Northcourt Centre.
There is now a waiting list. Contact Viv Lowe.
Our next monthly meeting on 12 December will be our Christmas one. There will be mulled wine, mince pies, musical entertainment by the Abingdon Music Centre, maybe a game of something and a Tombola – who could ask for more!!
We could still do with a few more suitable items for our Christmas Tombola at the monthly meeting – please!
There will also be our usual collection of warm clothing to donate to the homeless at Christmas. New hats, socks, scarves etc please.
