February newsletter

Published by AbingdonFitzharrysWI on

Hello again,
Who is in charge of all this rain? That’s what l want to know. Hope it stops soon so we can get out and about without getting soaked.

At our February meeting the speaker was certainly memorable for several reasons and we welcomed two visitors, Pauline and Sarita.
At our March meeting, which will be our annual general meeting, Catherine Blaxhall from the Oxfordshire Federation of WIs is coming to officiate at the committee elections.
There will also be a collection for ACWW (Associated Country Women of the World). Do look out for ACWW News in the Oxfordshire Federation newsletter. The business will be followed by a talk about living on a barge, “Isn’t it cold in winter?” by Karen and Brett Wiles.
The fruit and vegetable raffle at our last meeting was so successful that we are doing it again. Please bring a piece
of fruit or a vegetable to donate. We will have hot cross buns to go with your cup of tea.

Hilary will be our Delegate at the Oxfordshire Federation of WIs annual meeting on 26 March at Worton Hall near Cassington.

I will mention again the possibility of our own Book Club in the hope that someone who loves reading comes forward. Abingdon Library can supply and help with this.

Sunday 3 March 2 pm onwards Coffee club meeting at Coffee Aroma, High Street, Abingdon. All welcome.
Friday 22 March 2 pm Craft Group in the Morgan room at Northcourt Centre. It is one week early as the next
Friday is Good Friday. See in the picture below the chicks that Pat made for our last meeting. Contact Trine Lucy.
Art Group continues to meet every 2nd and 4th Monday morning in the Morgan room at Northcourt Centre.
There is now a waiting list, contact Viv Lowe.
Friday 22 March the Lunch Group are meeting at the Spread Eagle pub in Northcourt Road. Interested? Contact Pauline Claridge.

All the best Trine
