Dear All

Just a reminder that next Tuesday 12 March will be our annual meeting.  The new committee will be elected at that meeting.  It is not too late for you to put your name down to be a member of the committee.

We will be providing cheese and biscuits and wine after our meeting.  We will also be having a collection for ACWW  (Associated Country Women of the World).  Veronica Wilson  will give a talk after refreshments on The Red Box Scheme.

Saturday 16 March – Clubs and Societies Day will take place at The Guildhall where we will be having a stall to advertise our WI.  Anybody who is free to help should please speak to the committee.  We would also like anything to put on display.

Tuesday 26 March is OFWI Annual Meeting which will take place at the Kassam Conference Centre.  If you wish to enter the lucky dip for a bursary at Denman you need to put £1 into an envelope with your name and WI on the outside.  Hand the envelope to Hilary Kell and she will take it along to the Annual Meeting.

Orders for  2020 Diaries are now being taken.  They cost £5 each and   the closing date for orders is 3 May.

On 23 March there is a Fabric Sale at Denman from 10 until 4.  Admission is free.  Best to get there early if you want a bargain!

Jenny’s walk will be on Monday 19 March going to Steventon to see the daffodils.  They are going to catch the X2 bus which leaves the Boundary House at 10.34.  If you wish to go straight to Steventon the bus should arrive at 10.57.  Lunch at Steventon Bakery will follow.

Saturday  6 April we have been invited to take in the Big Easter Event.  It will take place in the Abbey Grounds, starting at 12.30 with games and stalls and at 2.00pm a performance of the Abingdon Passion Play.  We have reserved a stall and would like volunteers to man the stall.  Further details at our meeting on Tuesday.

The Jubilee 69 Group meeting will take place on Monday 13 May at 7.30 at Sutton Courtenay Village Hall.  Kevin Little will be talking about amusing tales of Donkeys, Dolphins, Foxes and Fish.  Tickets will be on sale on Tuesday – only £3 each.

I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

Val
