Hello, here comes April, less of the showers please! We need the sun to put his hat on.

I am thrilled to bits with our new logo. Thank you Mary and Marian. I might even turn it into a small quilt, goodness knows l have enough fabric.

Thank you for electing me as your President for one more year.  Hilary has agreed to stay on for one further year only and then we will be looking for a new secretary.

Our May meeting is very close to the Coronation and we will try to make it a bit special. The Town Crier has been booked and we hope to have a special cake.  The Art group ladies will put on a small exhibition for us and we even hope there will be time to make a Crown to wear home, like a proper party. No jelly or goodie bags this time though.

Sunday 2 April – Coffee club meeting Café Aroma 2pm onwards.

Craft club dates for your diary, all meetings on the following Fridays at 2pm at Northcourt Centre:

31 March – making boxes with Sheila

28 April  – making Liberty necklaces with Sheila

19 May –  felting with Kate

Art Group – continues to meet every 2nd and 4th Monday morning of the month in the Morgan room, Northcourt Centre.
Lunch Club: Next lunch arranged for Friday 7 April. Contact Pauline.

Next monthly meeting Tuesday 11 April. Helen Plumb will share her impressive knowledge about  ‘’Glorious Gems” with us.  Loran will update us on her Historic Houses membership, funded by her bursary and Jean Stirrup will give a report on the Oxfordshire Federation of WIs annual meeting. It was wonderful to meet up again face to face and we have a new County Chairman .

Jubilee WI Group 
Friday 14 April  7.15 pm at Northcourt Centre – a busy week as three days after our monthly meeting you have the opportunity to come and listen to a talk by Polly Vacher MBE. This local and inspirational lady learned to fly at the age of 50 and specialised in long distance solo flights. Her talk ‘’Wings around the World’’ is the story of her flight from the North Pole to Antarctica in a single engine aircraft. 
Non-members and men welcome.

August Outing  We are arranging a guided tour of the Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Camera and the Divinity School on a Wednesday in August to be confirmed. The cost is £18.  Please put your name on the list.
