August 2023 newsletter

Hello!
I know we don’t meet in August, but life goes on. Today it’s raining which is good for the garden, but as the song goes The sun will come out tomorrow, as long as it’s not 40 degrees plus.
We all enjoyed the July meeting, I think. Old bottles and stuff with Stuart Cummings,  followed by a fantastic Show and Tell by the Art Group, now 10 years old, led by Viv Lowe. Such talent on display.

A big welcome to Doreen, Dorothy and Linda who joined us this month.

Garden party – How lucky we were with the weather. Super afternoon. Thank you to Sheila for the treasure hunt. Other help with the raffle and serving was also very welcome. Not forgetting the committee, who made cakes and all the donations for the raffle and sales table. You are all lovely.
Programme 2024/25 Some of us are working hard to put a new programme together.

Craft group Friday 28 July 2 pm at Northcourt Centre. Hexagons.

Walking group Friday 4 August – Jenny is leading the group on a walk to Sunningwell.  Meet 10.30 at Christ Church, Northcourt Road.
Coffee club meeting on Sunday 6 August –  Café Aroma 2pm onwards.

Art Group Continues to meet every 2nd and 4th Monday morning in the Morgan Room, Northcourt Centre
Interested? No meeting in August !! Contact Viv Lowe.
Lunch Club Next lunch arranged for Wednesday 23 August 12.30 at The Spread Eagle, Northcourt Road. Contact
Pauline Claridge.
Monthly meeting Tuesday 12 September  David Busby will bring his bees, and produce to sell. We would all be in a right pickle were it not for the bees. So small and yet so vital to the whole world. I certainly plan to stock up on local honey etc.
Date for your diary Friday 8 December Christmas lunch at Cosener’s House.

Take care and all the best Trine
