July 2023 newsletter

Dear Friends
a very select number of ladies attended our June meeting. It is always a busy month catching up, now that the weather is warm at last. There were 13 apologies. A big welcome to Linda who joined us and we hope that Wendy who came as a visitor will want to come back.

Our speaker Richard Kirby perched on his stool and filled us in on the life of Joan of Arc. Quite different it seems to what is taught in French schools.

A sub group is currently looking to make an interesting programme for 2024/25. Any ideas you have would be welcome.  We have asked the art group to help with a poster competition. Programme 2023/24: Copies are still available.

Please continue to knit small blankets for the premature baby unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Val is also collecting NEW dark coloured pants and bras in good condition for Africa.

Sunday 2 July –  Coffee Club meeting at Café Aroma 2pm onwards.
Friday 28 July – Craft group at the Northcourt Centre, making hexagons.
