November 2021 newsletter

Dear All
I can’t quite believe that we are about to put the clocks back and before long we’ll all be making plans for Christmas. If you have any ideas for our Christmas Party – poems, prose or carols that you’d like to recite, please get in touch with Viv.

I thought that last month’s speaker, Jan Warner, was excellent; her talk on the history of child rearing was full of interesting details, some of which took us back to our own childhood, and the bringing up our own children. Perhaps we might think about visiting her museum in Banbury next year?

At our next meeting on 9 November, Trine will be showing us how to make our own Christmas Cards. If you’d like to take part, here is a list of the items it would be useful to bring:

  • Old greeting cards – Christmas or birthday
  • Magazines with attractive pictures
  • Glue stick e.g. Pritt
  • Paper scissors
  • Tweezers
  • A cereal box

I hope you’ve all had time to look at the menu which Hilary sent out from Cosener’s House for our Christmas lunch on Tuesday 7 December.  If you wish to join us, can you let Anne known your choice of menu at next month’s meeting, and please remember to bring your cheque books for payment.

It’s good that our meetings have become more relaxed and members are willing to take part; my thanks to everyone who has signed either the refreshment or the flower rota.

In the meantime,  take care, don’t work too hard and stay safe.

Moira.
